Prof. Martins Ishaya is an esteemed legal scholar and the current Dean of the Faculty of Law at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). He began his academic journey with the institution as a Lecturer II and steadily rose through the ranks to attain his current position as a Professor of International Law, with a specialized focus on International Maritime Law. Throughout his distinguished career at NOUN, Prof. Ishaya has held several key administrative roles, including serving as the Faculty’s Exams Officer, Deputy Dean, and Head of the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law. An active voice in the global legal community, he has traveled extensively worldwide to attend international conferences and present insightful research papers. Prof. Ishaya is also a dedicated professional, holding active memberships in both the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the International Bar Association (IBA).
